On the Fourth of July, 2006, we were on the way home from visiting Carol and Don at Lake Lanier. We stopped in Landrum to pick up supplies for the ride and saw this headline on the Tryon Daily Bulletin. It felt like V-J Day and winning the lottery all at once.
