Sometimes we might go years without serious snow here at home; it's been ten so far. So when we need to sled, we need to travel.
They have good snow in Vermont:
But they wouldn't let us take our sleds on their ski slopes:
So we had to find our own:
We think the scenery at ours was better, anyway.
Most winters we find some snow a lot closer; at Pisgah National Forest in Western North Carolina, for instance, where the classic series on the next page was taken.
