This ratsnake was found on the edge of the screen porch ten feet up. He's outside the screen; that's why he's sort of blurry. Unfortunately Mark spotted him after he had reached the phoebe nest that was at the top of the corner post below the porch floor. "Ratsnake" isn't really right; "Babysongbirdsnake" would give a more accurate impression of their reprehensibleness.

This four-foot three rattler was between the two driveways, about twenty yards from the garage. One of the cats

( Rikki-Tikki-Andrew) made it buzz so that a human would come deal with it.

And this early black racer was a sunny yard regular.
